WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT DANCE?
"It makes me feel free."
WHAT HAS DRAWN YOU TO CONTINUE TO DANCE WITH CREATE?
"I get to do what I want to do - I'm not held back in creativity. I've known Miss Amy my entire life & at one point I actually told my mom "the only person who can teach me dance is her." I had a rough experience with other instructors and not feeling a part of a team but here I not only feel I have the support of my instructor, I feel I am a part of a dance family."
WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT FAVORITE STYLE OF DANCE?
"Contemporary. I can do what I want and think outside the box. Other styles hold true to a vocabulary whereas contemporary does not. I can move freely."
DO YOU HAVE CERTAIN GOALS THIS YEAR YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE?
"I am determined to get my double pirouette as well as accomplish my left split so I'll have both."
WHAT IS THE DANCE WE ARE WATCHING ABOUT?
"In my dance "SMILE" (Nat King Cole) - I wanted to show the audience that no matter what situation you are faced with, you have to smile and push through it."
WHAT DREW YOU TO THE STORY AND THE MUSIC?
"I was drawn to this song because first, it's beautiful, a classic, & is very appropriate for what we've been going through this year."
HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE THE CHARACTER YOU PORTRAY IN THIS PIECE?
"I actually play the side of myself that sometimes falls into sadness but knows I have to get up and keep going. I have felt this many times this year due to the state of the world and know one day it will be over and I can smile!"
